Experience Is Everything

As a photographer or artist it’s easy to get wrapped up in our craft and in our talent.  The thing we have to remember is that ninety percent of the world doesn’t understand what goes into what we do, they (the clients) only care about the overall experience and end result.  Think of it in terms of a restaurant. Would you rather have amazing food and horrible service or decent food and amazing service – what if you had amazing food AND amazing service?  Many times the client will choose amazing service with decent results but we should strive to produce amazing work and deliver it with amazing, five star service.

I’m guilty as any in getting a mentality of “you don’t understand what does into this” or “I took beautiful pictures be patient”  at the end of the day the client wants their “product” and they want a good overall experience…this will bring them back for seconds and they might even tell their friends to visit!

The bottom line is do not substitute art for experience – the client doesn’t separate the two.
